Housing in the Parish

There is a wide variety of housing types within the Parish. There are many detached older houses, farmhouses and cottages.

In Langford there are houses which originally were local authority housing, though many are now privately owned. In the 1980s a large estate of about 170 houses, known locally as 'the Broadoak', was built. These are mainly family homes and are very popular.

House prices in the Parish are high. People tend to extend their houses rather than move. First time buyers find it very difficult to buy within the Parish. The Parish Council has been very conscious of this and so an affordable housing scheme comprising eight houses and four flats has just been agreed with English Rural Housing Association.
