Wrington Vale is a 5-Partner dispensing practice working from two main surgeries, at Ladymead Lane, Churchill and Station Road, Wrington. Both surgeries were purpose built and have car parking facilities and facilities for disabled patients.
Patient services include:
•routine surgeries by appointment and home visiting
•treatment of minor injuries
•minor surgery
•dietary advice offered by a visiting dietitian
•travel advice and immunisation including yellow fever
•health promotion
•chronic disease management programmes including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke and hypertension
•counselling offered by our Practice Counsellor, Sally Walters
•family planning, including fitting of coils (IUCDs)
•maternity care offered by a visting midwife and her team
•child health surveillance.

Janet Howe
Janet Howe is the specialist Family Planning Nurse. All the above nurses do reviews of patients with chronic diseases (asthma, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension) as well as cervical smears, treatment of minor injury, wound dressings, ear syringing, vaccinations and immunisations, travel vaccinations and advice. They provide health promotion including advice on diet, weight and exercise.

The team of Health Care Assistants do all blood tests (phlebotomy). They also do ECG tests, routine blood pressure monitoring, new patient checks, audiometry tests, and spirometry tests. Karen and Janice have also been trained as Support to Stop Smoking Advisors.
